Hall Farm Wetton Accessibility and Inclusivity Guide

We strive to make our holiday cottages as accessible and inclusive as possible, please find some key information below, as always if you have any questions please do get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

General Access Information

• Parking: There is ample parking available directly adjacent to the cottages. The parking area is gravel. Dovedale, our single storey, has a parking place right outside the door.
• Public transport: There is no regular public transport to the village. The moorlands connect is an on demand bus that will pick you up and take you to nearby towns and villages. Information can be found here - Moorlands Connect - flexible & affordable bus travel across the Staffordshire Moorlands. The nearest train stations are Buxton, Uttoxeter and Matlock. The nearest mainline stations are Stoke and Derby, these are both around a 50 minute drive.
• Taxis - Taxis can be booked from the nearby towns of Ashbourne, Leek, Buxton and Bakewell. Ubers can sometimes be found in the area but it is not always reliable. We always recommend any taxis are always booked in advance.

Around the site

• Footpaths and surfaces: Our parking area is gravel, including up to the front door of Dovedale, our single storey cottage. We have a cobbled drive. The paths to Thors cottage and Manifold cottage have two steps to them and are either paving stones or gravel.
• Steps: There are steps to get to Thors and Manifold Cottage. The are no steps to get to the playbarn, parking area or the lawn from Dovedale cottage

Cottage Accessibility

• Two-Storey Cottages: Two of our cottages are two-storey and feature steps to access the upper floor. These cottages may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues. If you require a ground-floor accommodation Dovedale cottage may be suitable for your needs. Pleaee do get in contact first so we can ensure our cottage meet your needs.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

• Ground Floor Bedroom: Our single-storey cottages offer ground-floor bedrooms with easy access and may be suitable for someone with mobility issues - please call first to confirm.
• Bathroom: Dovedale bathroom includes a bath with an over the top shower (no walk in shower), an adjustable shower head, and lever-operated taps.

Kitchen and Sitting Room Accessibility

• Work Surfaces: Kitchen work surfaces and sinks are accessible from a seated position. Appliances are positioned for ease of use, and kitchen cupboards are within reach.
• TVs: All TVs in the cottages have subtitle options available.

Hearing and Communication

• Hearing Loop: We do not have a hearing loop installed. Please inform us in advance if you need any specific arrangements or equipment.
• Mobile Reception and Wifi: The property has superfast Wifi connection. Some networks have signal at the cottage but it is not always reliable.

Local Information

• Nearest Town/Village: The nearest towns are Ashbourne and Leek, located approximately a 20 minute drive away. There are accessible parking options, and local eateries and shops are available.
• Emergency Services: The nearest Accident and Emergency hospital is in Derby, approximately a 45 minute drive away. Minor injury units can be found in Buxton, Ashbourne and Leek.
